A few months ago we were delighted to be asked to send down some of our products to be photographed for Cosmopolitan Pregnancy's first Ultimate Baby Checklist - a glossy entirely devoted to absolutely everything you might need to know about the nursery, wardrobe, playtime, nappies, being out and about, bath time, first aid, feeding and hospital. You get the idea.

Morning is tweeting
We have just got a new colour in of our little Birdhouse Alarm Clocks. They are not only a sweet way to add a pop of colour to a bedroom, they almost make it a pleasure to wake up. Instead of the bleeping of a regular alarm calling you be summoned out of slumber land by the chirping of forest birds. I'm serious. Mind you can switch it to the bleep if you are worried the little forest birds won't wake you up.

Room for Children
I finally got to sit down and enjoy one of our new books, Room for Children, and what a treat it turned out to be! Susanna Salk has brought together a group of well respected interior designers, architects and photographers resulting in 235 pages of visual sumptuousness (too much, I don't think so).
$65.00 here.
When designing her sons' rooms it was important to Kelly Wearstler "to create spaces they could grow into, rather than designing for their ages at that exact moment". I like that because it means an investment into a room can be really worthwhile because the vision has longevity. This space is certainly a beautiful room to grow into.
Kelly's son Oliver's room.
I just love the variety (I refuse to use the ubiquitous 'eclectic') in the mix of frames of artwork on this nursery wall by Jennifer DeLonge.
This cluster of art on p24.
There's something very sweet about this simple room. Allison Tick says that painting shelves two different but compatible colours is an easy way to transform a wall.
This sweet room on p51.
Now you know this shared bedroom has been done to perfection because it doesn't scream "boy's room" but it doesn't scream "girl's room".
The perfect balance on p53.
The dark navy day bed along with the framed map and monogrammed pillows set a very classic mood in this Katie Ridder bedroom.
Classic combination on p71.
Four children share this bedroom when they visit their family base in New York City. Inspired by the Orient Express, each 'compartment' has its own bookshelf and curtain. The Manhattan skyline is painted along the walls of each compartment.
Never mind New York, I heart this room.

BBC Good Food Magazine
A few months ago the lovely Kate Nixon contacted us to borrow some bits and bobs for her shoot with BBC Good Food Magazine.
The October issue is out and what a lovely job she's done with her slumber party themed shoot.
So which P&P goodies were used in the shoot...there's Paris, from our Maileg family (lying on the floor in the bottom left corner of the photograph), Bea one of our Esthex dolls (her head is obscured by the round blurb, what a shame, but then she's had her fair of attention as she's had her picture taken a couple of times before). One of the girls is leaning up against our pink early bird bean bag from Cocoon Couture and that fabulous green beanie is one of our cute artish head threads.
Paris the rabbit ($117 for the rest of the fortnight).

Maileg Sale
Maileg is the Danish design brand established by Dorothe and Erik Mailil in 1999. Dorothe's designs have been presented at The Louvre, Paris, Barcelona and at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Their collection has a unique authentic look and touch and is sold throughout Europe, Canada, the US, Japan and Australia.
For the next 2 weeks only we have put our entire Maileg collection on sale, meaning there are some excellent savings to be had, making this a very good time to grab something special to put away for Christmas.
Our forever favourite, the P&P doll set reduced to $171.
Paris is now $117.
Have a look here for the rest of our Maileg sale and make the most of it.
